The Chattanooga Zoo Outreach Program made a visit to Griffith Creek Head Start on Friday, March 5th. They brought a Chinchilla named Shadow, a Bearded Dragon named Draco and a Dove named Happy. Kelly and Skip from the zoo held an informational meeting with the children. They talked about Mammals, Reptiles and Birds. They gave the children information regarding each species of animal they brought with them. They also talked with the children about endangered species, habitats, food and nutrition for animals. The children were fascinated with the program and talked about it throughout the remainder of the school day. They drew pictures and dictated their understanding of the programs in their journals. Thanks for coming to visit!
